The Facultad de Medicina Veterinaria y Zootecnia was founded in October 1957. It undertakes academic, research, production and extension activities, within its physical infrastructure and a highly qualified group of people. It has an agricultural farm, a cattle farm and a modern laboratory for the production of shrimp post larvae. We seek excellence through specific agreements with producers, service corporations, official and private agencies, as well as other academic and research institutions, national and international.

Our goal is to form professionals capable of acting efficiently in identifying solutions to problems associated with agricultural and farming productivity that will increase the production of species useful to mankind, through knowledge and use of productive techniques, applying preventive medicine and capacity in diagnosis, treatment and control of animal diseases. Considering the conservation and balance of the ecosystems.
