Silvia Salas

 
Professor and Associate Researcher at the Departamento de Recursos del Mar in Cinvestav Merida. Her main activities are research and teaching. She has done work on evaluation of fish populations such as mojarras, snappers and spiny lobster. She has also carried out studies on the bioeconomics of the lobster fishery and of the minor pelagic species. At present, she is focusing her research towards the analysis of decision and behavior of fishermen, and the implications they have on management and coastal development.
