Research:

* Crustal deformation and plate motion - We are investigating crustal deformation in a variety of tectonic regions with GPS, including the Caribbean North American Plate Experiment (CANAPE).

* Volcano monitoring - Surface deformation on active volcanoes gives clues to magmatic processes at depth, and is a possible indicator of eruption. The Geodesy Lab at UM is actively involved in volcano monitoring research, with a long term goal of reducing volcano hazard in populated areas near active volcanoes.
