Study and Mapping of Barataria, Louisiana

The Barataria Barrier Shoreline Complex Project proposed under PPL-9 will restore from five to ten miles of barrier shorelines in Barataria from Grand Terre to Sandy Point. Two or three islands of barrier shoreline will be restored using a combination of sand, alternative materials and hard structures along the Gulf shore. In addition, the feasibility of installing wave absorbers proposed in the BIFS or similar protection along inland shorelines will be developed.
