Common in north northeast and east northeast Gulf of Mexico samples from USNM 20802 (Type), 26427, 096066, 148581, 148583, and National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration-National Benthic Inventory FBAW94-20-1, 94-20-2, 94-21-1, 94-22-1, 94-22-2, 94-36-1; FBAW 96-19-1, 96-19-3, 96-34-2, and SFG 00-4-2; mostly small specimens; may be found in empty bivalve shells and sand dollar tests; differs from T. hartmani in having two pair of nephridia.
