GulfBase is the only free, searchable database of people, places, projects, events and organizations in the Gulf of Mexico. Created and maintained by the Harte Research Institute for Gulf of Mexico Studies at Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi, our vision was to create an easy-to-use one-stop portal for all things Gulf. The Gulf of Mexico, the world’s ninth largest body of water, supports some of the world’s largest fisheries and astonishing species diversity, but it’s also facing unprecedented environmental and economic challenges. GulfBase aims to be a resource for a broad audience of knowledge-seekers: From scientists seeking new collaborators to students researching a science project.
