The main activities of the Cuba National Aquarium are the following:

To exhibit organisms of the tropical marine flora and fauna, in order to connect visitors with the main landscapes and ecosystems of the Cuban Archipelago.

To develop and introduce specific technical-scientific results in order to guarantee growth and optimum maintenance of marine organisms under human care, and to increase the knowledge of the marine environment and its natural resources.

To develop specialized didactics, complemented with popular technical-popular information along with conservation and environmental protection messages.

To develop a General Education Program as support for academic programs.

To develop adequate communication with visitors in order to achieve their interaction and interrelationship with the exhibit, with the objective of making the educational program effective as a living museum.

To establish exchange and collaboration agreements with national and international institutions specialized in aquariums, marine mammals, technology and environmental education.
