Texas State Marine Education Center

The Texas State Marine Education Center is located on 27 acres of pristine shoreline west of the Port of Palacios.

Four institutions conduct classes at the Center:

  • Palacios Independent School District
  • Texas State Technical College
  • Wharton County Junior College
  • Texas A&M Sea Grant

The center has two classroom buildings, a Diesel Mechanics and Aquatic Science Building, and several Laboratory Buildings. There is an extensive Nature Trail that covers 25 acres of adjacent shoreline and wetlands.
