Universidad Autónoma Metropolitana

The Universidad Autonoma Metropolitana, was created on December 17, 1973, as a decentralized organism from the state, with it’s own patrimony and legal personality.

It’s main goals are to give higher education at the following levels: bachelors, masters, doctorate, specialization and continuous education, through a scholar or extra scholar modality, preparing professionals that agree with the needs of society.

Organize and develop research activities in humanities and science, focused on national problems related to the conditions of historical development; and to promote and preserve culture.

To undertake this task it has created three Academic Units within Mexico city: UAM-Azcapotzalco, UAM-Iztapalapa, UAM-Xochimilco
