Alejandra Serrano-Pavon is an Environmental Lawyer and the Southeast Regional Director for the Mexican Center for Environmental Law (Centro Mexicano de Derecho Ambiental – CEMDA). Her expertise is in negotiations with government, industry, academic institutions, and communities regarding biodiversity issues. Her participation has been key in the development of Protected Areas and Refugee Zones in Mexico , with particular consideration to fisheries. She has helped to shape legal instruments and national standards for sustainable fisheries, mangroves, and other coastal habitats. She also has provided legal defense in the case of oil spills in Veracruz. She studies at the Panamerican University in Mexico City, where she received her specialization in Procedural Law. She also hold a specialty in Environmental Law from Barra Mexicana de Abogados.
