Barry Wilson is the Coordinator for the Gulf Coast Joint Venture, a bird habitat conservation partnership spanning the coastal portions of Texas eastward to Alabama, for which he has served as staff for 16 years. Currently a U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service employee, he has also worked for Ducks Unlimited, as a refuge biologist for the Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries, and as a research associate for Delta Waterfowl Foundation in a career spanning 20 years. His academic background includes an M.S. from Louisiana State University and a B.S. from Midwestern State University. His professional interests include bird habitat-population relationships, waterfowl population dynamics, and wetland habitat management. When not working, he enjoys harvesting and consuming wetland products including birds, crustaceans, fish, mammals, and amphibians.
