Bren is a wetland ecologist with interests in coastal fisheries, coastal restoration and conservation, threatened and endangered species and ecosystems, and aquatic toxicology. He is certified by the Louisiana State University Biogeochemistry Institute as successfully completing training in the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Wetland Delineation Manual.
