National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration's (NOAA) Navigation Manager for the Western Gulf of Mexico. The National Ocean Service develops a variety of products and services to aid in the Marine Transportation System and Maritime Community. CDR. Bunn serves as a NOAA liaison to Texas Sea Grant, Texas A&M University and the Texas General Land Office. He provides technical assistance and coordination in implementing the Physical Oceanographic Real Time Systems (P.O.R.T.S.), the Texas Coastal Management Plan, Safe Navigational Efforts for Ports and Waterways, and other maritime and marine affairs issues. He also serves as liaison and coordinates logistics for Regional Navigation Response Teams, conducting hydrographic and side scan sonar surveys of ports and waterways to assure safe navigation after emergency or hurricane closures.
