Dr. Nolan's specialties are dynamic meteorology, tropical cyclones and the general circulation of the atmosphere. Some of his present research topics are: Hurricane development and intensification, tornadoes, swirling boundary layers, tropical meteorology, and the intertropical convergence zone.
