Dr. Elena N. Kondratieva was a Russian microbiologist. Her principal research was bacterial photosynthesis; pathways of carbon dioxide assimilation; carbon, sulfur and nitrogen metabolism, and nitrogen fixation.

Dr. Kondratieva authored over 250 scientific publications including two monographs, three textbooks and nine patents.
