Dr. Jacobs heads the Ocean Dynamics and Prediction Branch, NRL7320. This group specializes in constructing numerical models to represent ocean dynamics. In addition, data assimilation methods are implemented to aid in the accurate prediction of the ocean environment. Ocean processes include representation of deep ocean circulation, mesoscale eddies, boundary currents, surface currents, temperature and salinity throughout the ocean, wave height and nearshore flow.
