Dr Solo-Gabriele is an Environmental Water Engineer with over 10 years experience in drinking water issues, including work on Cryptosporidium contamination. She has also developed pioneering work in the area of environmental contamination from the use and waste of arsenic-treated wood. Dr Solo-Gabriele is currently performing a study of monitoring and health effects of recreational subtropical marine waters in conjunction with the Miami Dade Department of Health. Her research interests include: contaminant fate and transport; environmental transport of metals and microbial contaminants; transport of water and contaminants between surface and groundwater systems; surface water modeling of urbanized watersheds; hydrologic studies including surface water generation, sediment transport and landfill hydrology; metals in wood; and environmental impacts of pressure-treated wood.
