Dr. Henry A. Pilsbry (1862-1957)

Dr. Henry Pilsbry was an American malacologist and was a leading authority on barnacles, chitons and North American land mollusks. At just 25 years of age, he earned the title of "Conservator of the Conchology Section" and "Editor" of the Manual of Conchology. He later founded the influential journal of malacology, The Nautilus. Throughout his career, Dr. Pilsbry wrote over 3000 scientific papers.
