Experienced international researcher and conservation leader with a demonstrated history working in and across the government administration, academic, and nonprofit industries. Areas of specialty include aquatic animal and ecosystem health, conservation management and policy, and sustainability with an emphasis on anthropogenic and anthropogenically induced environmental stressors including marine debris (plastic pollution, ADVs, and DFG) and HABs. Building experience and knowledge of human dimensions and economics, particularly as they relate to marine debris issues and conservation management. Interested in expanding University interdisciplinary engagement in marine debris and plastic pollution research as well as continuing to build collaborative networks and action teams. Skilled in Aquatic Animal and Ecosystem Health Assessment and Monitoring, Sustainability, Natural Resource Management, Conservation Biology and Policy, International Relations, Project Management and Strategic Development, Marine Biology, Grant and Contract Management and Administration, Wildlife Conservation, Public Relations (including education, outreach, media, and stakeholder engagement), Field and Laboratory Research, and Legislative Affairs. Experience working and living in the United States, the United Kingdom, Australia and Brazil as well as experience working in Belize and Cuba. Strong research and conservation management professional with a Ph.D. focused on Aquatic Animal Health from the University of Florida.
