Dr. Juan Moya is a geoscientist that has worked in coastal projects and research in the Gulf of Mexico, Atlantic and Pacific Oceans, and the Caribbean. He has academic and teaching experience at the National University of Mexico, University of Puerto Rico, University of Colorado, and Texas State University. He is a coastal geoscientist who uses topographic LIDAR, remote sensing, GIS, geomorphologic and geologic analysis, geotechnical surveys, and field surveys to measure coastal impacts and changes. He has also worked for the State government of Texas and Puerto Rico in coastal initiatives. Dr. Moya works on technical and scientific issues supporting coastal communities and non-profit organizations on coastal planning and restoration issues. Currently, his is working on habitat restoration, regional sediment management, impact of sea level rise and land subsidence, mitigaiton banking, geomorphology and coastal planning, and coastal hazards.
