Dr. Jerry Harasewych is a research zoologist and Curator of Marine Mollusca at the Smithsonian Institution National Museum of Natural History.

Research Interests

-Phylogeny, Biogeography, and Molecular Evolution of Gastropoda, with special interest in Pleurotomariidae, Cocculiniformia, Neogastropoda and land snails of the family Cerionidae.

-Origin, Evolution, and Biogeography of Deep-Sea Molluscan Faunas.

-Application of forensic techniques to resolve questions of organismal to evolutionary history within Mollusca.
