Current Research:
- Microalgal growth, physiology and acclimation to diverse growth conditions (i.e., light, temperature, nutrients, salinity, and CO2)
- Analysis of bio-optical data with a special focus on CDOM absorption and fluorescence properties and its variability in the global oceans
- Directs analytical work for biochemical contents and properties of the algal biomass (e.g., lipids, pigments, carbohydrates, proteins, nucleic acids)
- Resolving Chemical Properties and Extent of Crude Oil and Dispersant Distribution in the Deepwater Horizon Oil Spill (Year One Block Grant, FIO)
