Lori LeBlanc is an independent consultant and currently serving as the Executive Director of the newly formed non-profit organization, Gulf Economic Survival Team; formed in July 2010 by then-Lt. Governor Scott Angelle at the request of Louisiana Governor Jindal. As Executive Director of GEST, LeBlanc serves as a liaison between local communities, industry, the state of Louisiana and the federal government in resolving the federal regulatory permitting hurdles in order to resume permit approvals in the Gulf of Mexico. Prior to GEST, LeBlanc served as the Deputy Secretary for the Louisiana Department of Natural Resources. Lori is also a consultant working on Louisiana hurricane protection and coastal restoration projects in South Louisiana. She has been active in several coastal restoration advocacy and policy organizations and was appointed by Louisiana Governor Foster and served 4 years on the Governor’s Coastal Advisory Commission.

LeBlanc received her B.S. in Environmental Science from Auburn University in 1991 and her Master’s degree from Louisiana State University in 1999. She currently lives in Thibodaux, Louisiana with her husband and two children.
