Dronen and Badley (1979) established a new species in a new genus as Paratrema numenii. Kanev, Radev, and Fried (2005) considered Paratrema a junior synonym of Parorchis and did not accept P. numenii because it was similar to P. asiaticus Strom, 1927. This problem requires additional study, so we consider Parorchis numenii (Dronen and Badley, 1979) a new combination until the status is confirmed.
